We can't read your deals
Messages and tracking numbers are encrypted in your browser. We store ciphertext and no key. A subpoena of our database returns blobs.

Exchanges happen directly between members, off-platform. PhenoTrade never touches money or genetics — it verifies reputations, nothing else.
Built to protect everyone in the deal
Privacy here is architecture, not a promise.
Trading genetics means handing a stranger your address. Most platforms ask you to trust that they'll look after it. We built it so we can't look at it in the first place — and we publish the parts we can still see, because a privacy claim you can't check is marketing.
Photos are scrubbed on upload
Phone cameras bury GPS coordinates in every picture. We re-encode each upload and drop the metadata, so a seed photo taken at your bench doesn't publish your address.
Tracking numbers stay yours
A carrier number resolves to real names at both ends, so we never store one. It's encrypted to you and your counterparty; we keep only the last four digits and a timestamp as dispute proof.
Contact details reveal once, and you see who looked
Your channels stay hidden until you accept a deal. Every view is logged and shown back to you in your shop settings.
Two-factor, and keys you can carry
Authenticator-app 2FA with recovery codes. Export your encryption key under a passphrase and your deal history follows you to a new device.
Leave without wrecking anyone
Delete your account and your shop, listings, messages and shipping records go with it. Ratings you left survive with your name stripped, so honest breeders keep the record they earned.
Invite-only, and invisible from outside
Logged out, there is no marketplace to browse. Every member was vouched in by another member who staked their name on it.
What we can still see
We can see your email, your public shop, and the fact that you and another member opened a deal — the contents are encrypted, the existence of the conversation isn't. That's the honest limit of the design, and we'd rather say it than let you find out later.
